I always tell people that when life gets stressful….stitch! I firmly believe we all need an outlet and stitching allows us to stitch away our worries into the very crevices of our canvas while developing and nurturing our creative selves. During the covid-19 pandemic and now with the wake of societal unrest we need to channel our energies into doing good things. De-clutter!! Find those old half-finished soon-to-be masterpieces and finish them. Stitch for the people you love and get creative. Learn those new stitches, tackle the obscure1. Buy that magnifier, portable lamp and challenge yourself. Don’t underestimate your abilities.
More importantly, don’t underestimate the power of giving. You don’t have to be a stitcher to look at a finished needlepoint and realize how much energy and dedication went into a project that is now being gifted to someone special. Bask in your own greatness as a creator of beautiful things and find your way back to giving from the heart.
